This week in our Follow the Leader Class we discussed how dancing with our spouse can be a form of praise to God. One thing that was of particular interest was Ecclesiastes 3:4 It reads there is a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance. Is it not amazing that the opposite of mourning is not Joy, but dancing? It makes me think of the song Amazing Grace. I once was lost, but now I am found. Blind, but now I see. To me dance is the ultimate expression of Joy for what God has done for me and it is even more amazing that he has given me a spouse I can share this with.
Let Them Praise His Name with Dancing
Psalm 149:3 New International Version (NIV)
3 Let them praise his name with dancing
and make music to him with timbrel and harp.
Jeremiah 31:13 New International Version (NIV)
13 Then young women will dance and be glad,
young men and old as well.
I will turn their mourning into gladness;
I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.
